Powerful Rudiger makes Chelsea decision after being offered £200,000-a-week contract by

Antonio Rudiger has made a decision about whether or not to stay with Chelsea beyond the season Rudiger is one of three defenders who are out-of- contract this summer and don’t appear to be any closer to a new deal. Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are also yet to sign a new deal.

The German has been in fine form this season and has really developed into one of the best defenders in the Premier League, maybe even Europe. He is reportedly earning around £100k-a-week but has now turned a new contract worth twice as much as his current deal, according to the Daily Mail.

The club are still confident they can agree new terms with the Germany international as they want to keep him at the club for the next few seasons, but considering they only offer one-year deals to players over the age of thirty, clubs are keeping a close eye.

Thomas Tuchel decided to give his players not away on international duty a full seven days off last week to rest and recharge the batteries Rudiger spent his time off in Sierra Leone, reuniting with family and continuing his charitable work in the west African country through his foundation, while others took the opportunity to take a break in the sun.

‘It was a tough period but you know when you sign for this club how busy the schedule is,’ Rudiger reflect ‘A break is always good but for me personally, we could also have kept going if we needed to because you always have to be on your toes and ready.

‘Even with Covid-19 and everything, we kept playing and training every day so of course it was difficult but we survived.’
