“It Is Down To Those Two Clubs” A Journalist Close To Haaland’s Camp Reveals What He Knows

Jan Aage Fjortoft has confirmed that Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is likely to join either Manchester City or Real Madrid this summer. It was reported last week that the Norwegian had narrowed down his options to the two teams, and Fjortoft (a former footballer turned reporter) says he has heard similar things:

“I got a feeling that Real Madrid will be ahead of Barcelona. And at Manchester City, there’s already a free seat as they say in Formula 1. What I do know about this process is that it’s very much down to little details and in the end, Erling will have to make a decision.”

“As we near the end of this negotiation, it’s down to two clubs and those are Real Madrid and Manchester City. This Barcelona thing, I don’t know if there will be a spin in the end, but at this moment, I think it is down to those two clubs.”

It seems as though the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United are no longer in the fight for Haaland’s signature. While talk about Barcelona has increased in recent weeks, Fjortoft has also played down those rumours so it comes down to a head-to-head between City and Real.

There has been a lot of speculation that the 21- year-old would prefer to play in Spain but it seems no final decision has been made. Manager Pep Guardiola has stated today that he wants to sign a new striker this summer and he could well be very close to getting his man.
