Real Madrid plot £90m Stamford Bridge swoop as Timo Werner fires Thomas Tuchel dig

Amid constant rumours over Romelu Lukaku ’s long-term Chelsea future, it appears that he has plenty of admirers in his services. Inter Milan have been mentioned in wanting to bring him back to Italy, whilst Paris Saint-Germain are also noted as interested.

Now, it appears that a number of European clubs have joined the race for his services. According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are interested in a move but only see him as an alternative should they fail to secure Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.

Elsewhere, it is also noted that Bayern Munich or Barcelona could also hold an interest in Lukaku ahead of the summer transfer window opening. The striker is currently valued at £90m with transfermarkt.

Werner makes Chelsea admission

On the topic of strikers linked with moves away from Chelsea, Timo Werner has admitted that the tactical set-up of the German national side could potentially suit him more than Thomas Tuchel ’s system at Chelsea. Speaking after scoring in die Mannschaft’s recent 2-0 win against Israel, he said:

“I really enjoy playing football, no matter where I'm playing. There are differences in the style of play between football at Chelsea and here. “Maybe the one at the national team suits me better. Here, I always have scoring chances, I can score goals. I feel very comfortable here.”

Takeover deadline set by Raine

Away from transfers now and it appears that a takeover at Stamford Bridge has taken a significant step towards being completed. According to reports, the preferred bidders have been given a deadline of April 11 for any final bids.

It is suggested that there are currently four groups in the running to take over from Roman Abramovich, with the majority of them being of American origin. It has also been reported that all parties are being asked for a £1bn cash injection as part of their investment in the club.
