Blues handed Declan Rice transfer update as Rudiger reaches contract ‘agreement’

Chelsea have been linked with a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice for a few seasons now, with Thomas Tuchel also believed to be keen on the England international. However, The Athletic reports that the Hammers are hoping to keep hold of Rice for another season.

While he is an important player for David Moyes, the club are said to be willing to let him go in 2023, after the Qatar World Cup later this year. With two-years, plus a club option of an extra year, left on his deal, time is on their side.

Antonio Rudiger reaches transfer agreement

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has made a decision over his next club, according to reports. It comes after Thomas Tuchel confirmed the defender would be leaving the club at the end of the season. The Germany international is said to have a verbal agreement with Real Madrid, with contracts yet to be signed or confirmed for his move.

Gary Neville fires Chelsea top four warning

Former Manchester United defender and pundit Gary Neville has warned Chelsea against being dragged into a top four battle at the end of the season. It comes after the Blues hit a rocky patch of form after the international break. Discussing that before the win over West Ham, he said on Sky Sports:

“They've [Chelsea] lost their last two [two from three before Sunday], there's an element of they've got to stop the wheels coming off. You see where they are in the table and they seem comfortable, they go to Old Trafford on Thursday.

"That should be an easy one, but if they were to lose at United on Thursday then they'll be dragged right into a big problem. They need to make sure they're professional.”
