Kounde's Chelsea contract revealed as Tuchel makes £60m decision with Werner future in doubt

Kounde drama ends Chelsea have finally beaten Barcelona to a transfer this summer as football.london understands that the deal has finally been agreed for Jules Kounde.

The year long saga looked set to continue as Barcelona pressed the player to delay a move whilst they scrambled to gather funds but Chelsea's £55m offer remained the only one on the table and it is now understood that the player will sign a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel not a fan of Werner

As the Blues boss looks to clear out his attackers to make way for fresher options, Werner may not be part of his long-term plans. Although there aren't thought to be personal reasons behind this, Tuchel has struggled to get the best out of Werner since joining the club.

The player is keen to move on from Chelsea and there is interest from European clubs. However, he is just a small part of a larger problem that Tuchel has with his underperforming squad members.

Saint-Maximin interest

As Chelsea look to move on from Werner, they are looking at Newcastle's Allan Saint-Maximin as a replacement, though his £50m price tag is off- putting.

Saint-Maximin is still the star at St James' Park and won't be pressured into leaving as the Magpies no longer rely on external income to keep themselves going after the Saudi-backed takeover.

The Frenchman has had a discipline issue with Eddie Howe this summer already, but has been praised for his pre-season shape since.
