The German publication has contradicted reports that the 26-year-old would not be interesting in making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Both Gnabry and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao are believed to be under consideration as manager Thomas Tuchel looks to strengthen his attacking options.
However, it should be pointed out that Kicker believe Gnabry’s priority is to remain at Bayern Munich and sign a new contract.
His current deal at the Allianz Arena expires next year but the two sides are “getting closer” to agreeing a four year extension.
From Chelsea’s perspective, it is a major boost that Gnabry would be interested in joining the club but any transfer this summer now relies on there being a breakdown in talks with Bayern. At the moment, that looks to be a very unlikely possibility.
