Todd Boehly handed £85m Joao Felix decision as Declan Rice sends transfer hint

Felix price

Chelsea could look at signing Joao Felix on a permanent basis in the summer from Atletico Madrid once his short-term loan spell at the club expires. After impressing in the West Ham game, Fabrizio Romano shared a significant update on Felix's future which hints at a permanent move being agreed in the summer.

"Internally, Chelsea have always felt that if Felix is happy to stay, there will be a serious option to reach an agreement with Atletico," he told his YouTube channel. "The first feeling is very good. He’s doing really well, and in training, Chelsea are very happy with his approach, his behaviour and are convinced that Felix is a fantastic signing."

Todd Boehly has also potentially been told how much the Portugal international could cost if they push to make his move permanent.

Rice transfer hint

Declan Rice looks set for a move away from West Ham United in the summer with several Premier League clubs hoping to sign him. Chelsea had been outlined as favourites for a number of seasons, but now Arsenal have joined the race with Manchester United also keeping tabs on his situation.

After his sides draw with Chelsea, Rice attended the BRIT awards to present the Best Hip Hop, Grime and Rap Act award. Prior to the ceremony beginning, the 24-year-old was stopped by presenter Amelia Dimoldenberg for an interview with one of his answers setting the transfer rumour mill in motion.

Champions League suspension risks

Chelsea begin their Champions League knockout stage campaign this Wednesday as they take on Borussia Dortmund in the last 16. Graham Potter will be hoping to keep his unbeaten record in European action for Chelsea intact with a trip to Germany arriving this week with the second leg to be played at Stamford Bridge in March.

The exclusion of Benoit Badiashile will mean the Blues boss is forced into at least one change and he will also likely be wary that a number of players could miss the second leg.
